A different species from the yellow pitahaya Ecuador is known for. Magenta skin, white flesh, fine black seeds, milder and more floral than the red-fleshed kind. Growers call it pitahaya roja after the skin; the trade calls it white dragon fruit.

How it holds
Don't run this as cold as a berry. Below about 41 °F white-fleshed pitahaya takes chilling injury — pitted skin, translucent patches, glassy flesh. Green, firm bract tips on arrival mean it moved cold but not too cold; yellowed and dry means it sat somewhere warm.
